Amara is a policy and government affairs expert with over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She has been in Singapore since 2018 and previously worked in Malaysia at a strategic think tank advising senior Malaysian policymakers.


Amara advises companies on APAC government relations, policy developments, trade legislation and market access. She was the regional policy lead for Rolls-Royce and worked as the Head of Public Affairs for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Prior to that, she led the Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar offices of a regional government affairs advisory firm.


Originally from Belgium, Amara started her career in the product team at Google and consequently worked as a Press & Media Officer at the European Commission, where she was responsible for managing the Commission’s public reputation.


Amara holds two Master’s degrees from Ghent University and Vlerick Business School and is fluent in English, Dutch, French and Italian.
