EDB Briefing for UK & Europe partners

-

We were delighted to have our Board Directors, and many members of BLCC in attendance at the annual outreach and re-connecting event hosted by Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us and took the time to attend this important event.

We also want to thank our President for connecting with EDB and for making it possible for our community to attend this event. The insights and knowledge shared by the speakers, including YC Choy, Shawn Loh, CFA, Dave Goh, Vanessa Gibbons, and Singapore Institute of Technology, were invaluable in helping us stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sustainability, co-innovation, supply chain, and talent.

YC Choy, VP & Head of Europe, gave a welcome note and reiterated that Singapore remains an attractive location to start, scale, and innovate businesses. Shawn Loh, CFA, VP Singapore Business, and VP Human Capital shared with us how Singapore's location in a high-growth region continues to attract and retain global talent. He also highlighted Singapore's commitment to attracting and developing local talent.

Dave Goh shared key insights into the shifts impacting global supply chains, supply chain diversification within APAC in favour of SEA, as well as trends and impacts on supply chain job roles and skillsets.

Vanessa Gibbons of Climate Impact X explained the urgency of how human activity is changing the climate in unprecedented and irreversible ways, and the global efforts to decarbonize and cut emissions by 2030. SIT Singapore Institute of Technology gave a detailed presentation on how they are building symbiotic relationships in areas of talent, CET, and innovation.

Once again, we extend our thanks to EDB and their staff for hosting this fantastic event, and we look forward to attending more such events in the future.
